[caption id="attachment_788" align="alignleft" width="203"] Nathan Aweau will headline the 2015 Kamehameha Day Celebration Ho‘olaulea on Saturday, June 13 in Kailua-Kona[/caption] Nathan was born into a musical family, his grandparents could play various instruments as well as performing with a band, his mom a piano player and his father for many years taught music and was a choir director as well as a Polynesian music teacher at various high schools. Nathan’s early years consisted of piano lessons, learning the guitar and ukulele and having the natural ability to sing. From grades seven through twelve his main instrument was the saxophone. Born and raised on Hawaii Island, these young talented musicians discovered, just over a year ago, that they not only share a common love for hula and our culture, but also a love for singing traditional Hawaiian music. Guided and assisted by Kumu Paul, they have written and composed numerous male in the beautiful Hawaiian language. The blending of their voices and beautiful falsettos will surely give you “chicken skin.”
